Defective Merchandise Policy
Cresent® makes every effort to hold the highest possible standards for quality in our furniture-all parts and finished products are inspected numerous times before leaving our plant. Occasionally however, imperfect products do reach the marketplace despite our best efforts. In the event that this occurs, consumers should contact the dealer from which they purchased their furniture. We work with our dealers to resolve these issues as they occur.
We strongly encourage our dealers to inspect Cresent® furniture before delivery to consumers and to undertake a process called "deluxing." Furniture retailers have traditionally deluxed furniture before delivery, a process that involves inspecting for defects, aligning doors and drawers if necessary, and touching up any packaging marks that may have occurred during shipment. This is one of the elements of a dealer's service that should be strongly considered by consumers when deciding where to buy furniture, and it is one reason that we do not offer online ordering-we simply cannot offer the on-site assistance that our dealers can.
One final point-as you may have read elsewhere on our site, our goal at Cresent® is the highest possible quality for the best value available. Keep in mind that this is a two-part equation: we strive every day for high quality, but we also strive to offer consumers outstanding value in American-made furniture. We do not profess to make perfect furniture-there is no such thing. And we will admit, that if price and value is no object, you can find furniture of a quality that may surpass Cresent®. But we feel sure that if you shop for furniture with a keen eye for detail, materials, and overall quality of construction, you will not find higher quality furniture at the value that we offer anywhere in the United States.
Distribution Policy
Cresent® furniture is distributed selectively in the U.S. and Canada through quality-conscious home furnishings dealers. Each accredited dealer selects from our assortments the collections that best suit their particular style preferences. For this reason, not all collections are available from every dealer. Dealers may also choose not to carry specific items within a particular collection.
In order to minimize delivery times, we encourage our dealers to stock the merchandise that they choose to display in their showrooms. Because of limited resources dealers may, from time to time, run out of stock. Most dealers maintain a backlog of orders for our products that are to be shipped from future production. Be sure to ask your dealer about incoming orders for any of the items in which you have an interest.
In the event that a particular dealer does not stock or have outstanding orders for a specific item, delivery times vary from two to twelve months.
We encourage consumers to shop for our furniture at an accredited dealer. The color and appearance of our furniture can be best observed in person. If you are attempting to match a new piece with an existing piece of furniture, we suggest that you bring in a drawer or table leaf to compare finish tone and wood grain.
While we are all conscious of the importance of price, we feel it is important that consumers understand that the best price does not always mean the best deal. Delivery and setup is a key component of the furniture value chain. Your local dealer has the expertise required to deliver and setup your Cresent® furniture and is the best resource for service after the sale in the event that you need to replace or repair a piece. For these reasons, we strongly suggest that consumers buy from a local dealer and have a clear understanding of what is included in the final price. By saving a few dollars off your bill, you may also limit the amount of service a dealer agrees to offer you after the sale. Our dealers need to make a profit so that they can continue to provide great service over time.
While we do not control the policies and actions of our dealers, we do provide them guidance and offer feedback periodically. If you would like to make suggestions or comments regarding any aspect of our business, we encourage you to do so on our Contact Form.
